The new US administration is \u201cbad news\u201d for Kiev, the former national security adviser has claimed<\/strong><\/p>\n US President Donald Trump does not want the Ukraine conflict complicating his agenda and may well end up offering Vladimir Putin a peace deal that would make the Russian leader \u201cvery happy,\u201d<\/em> former US national security adviser John Bolton has claimed in an interview with Afshin Rattansi\u2019s show \u2018Going Underground\u2019.<\/p>\n Bolton worked for Trump during his first term, but ended up being fired in September 2019 after only 18 months on the job. The US president later described the Republican as a \u201cnutjob\u201d<\/em> and called his appointment one of his \u201cbiggest mistakes.\u201d<\/em> One of the first things Trump did after his inauguration on Monday was terminate his former adviser\u2019s security detail provided due to alleged threats from Iran.<\/p>\n The new administration in the White House is \u201cbad news\u201d<\/em> for Kiev, Bolton told Rattansi on Saturday, pointing out that Trump recently \u201cthreatened Ukraine with a cutoff of military assistance\u201d<\/em> if it refuses to talk peace with Russia.<\/p>\n The US president and his team \u201cwant a negotiation because as with everything with Trump the world is just a long line of deals. He wants a deal to take this word \u2018Ukraine\u2019 off his table. He views it as [former US President Joe] Biden’s war\u2026 He wants it over with. He does not want it complicating his agenda,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n
