The latest cover shows the tech billionaire sitting at the Resolute desk in the Oval Office<\/strong><\/p>\n US President Donald Trump has ridiculed the latest cover of TIME magazine depicting Elon Musk. The print edition features the Tesla and Space X CEO sitting at the Resolute desk in the Oval Office.<\/p>\n The cover, dated February 24, 2025, shows the tech mogul at the center of the desk, positioned between an American flag and a presidential flag behind him. Musk, the head of Trump\u2019s newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), is shown holding a coffee cup in his left hand.<\/p>\n The magazine published a feature titled \u2018Inside Elon Musk\u2019s War on Washington\u2019, detailing the efforts of the Trump ally to reform the federal government since the president\u2019s inauguration on January 20.<\/p>\n \u201cNo\u2026 Is TIME Magazine still in business? I didn\u2019t even know that,\u201d<\/em> Trump said on Friday while speaking with journalists.<\/p>\n This comes two months after the publication named Trump \u2018person of the year\u2019, an honor that he first received after his election victory in 2016.<\/p>\n Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla and owner of X, was appointed as a \u2018special government employee\u2019 to head DOGE under the Trump administration. He is currently among the president\u2019s chief advisers.<\/p>\n In November, Musk co-wrote an opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal, announcing large-scale plans for budgets cuts. The billionaire said the newly launched agency \u2013 which is not listed among the permanent federal executive departments despite its name \u2013 would help the president \u201chire a lean team of small-government crusaders\u201d<\/em> who would work to bring \u201cmass head-count reductions across the federal bureaucracy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
